As the computer era dawned, Davis Tax Service was the 44th firm in South Carolina to offer electronic filing as a faster more efficient way to file taxes. It is hard for some people to imagine, but when we opened our doors in 1969, we prepared taxes by handwriting them and sending them by mail to the IRS. It usually took six weeks or more for an individual to receive a refund. Now, fast forward to today and our typical client brings in their tax documents and we prepare, print and have them sign, e-file and receive an acknowledgement from the IRS, all before the client leaves the office. One trip does it all. If you happen to be short on time, no worries simply drop off your documents and we will call you when your return is ready. In addition, we not only can electronically submit your federal taxes, we can also file all states as well as payroll, corporate and even sales tax returns.
The real estate business in Lee County is not unlike the rest of the country. It has its ups and downs. We also manage the most modern and up to date self-storage facility in Lee County having the convenience of a keypad secured, electronic gate which also offers more security and an offsite office to answer any questions that may arise. Our facility is located on the Sumter Highway across the street form Safe Federal Bank.
The Davis Company at its heart is a local, family business. Lance McInnis, Wayne’s step-son, joined the company in 2008 and is a Realtor® who enjoys working with both buyers and sellers as well as a seasoned tax professional. Wayne’s oldest son, Jay retired from commercial banking to join the company in 2015 and is also a Realtor® and tax preparer and is excited to bring his more than 25 years of financial experience to the company and help expand its accounting and payroll services. Jennifer Floyd has been in charge of the office for 3 years and is the backbone of the office. In addition to all her office administration skills, Jennifer also maintains the payroll taxes for our clients. Jennifer is so beloved by customers and coworkers alike, as far as the Davis Company is concerned, she is family as well.
